Abstract
Reconstructive techniques of orofacial defects are very varied. One of the more difficult problems in reconstructive surgery of the head and neck is replacement of bone and soft tissue lost because of injury, osteomyelitis, or malignancy. The radial forearm free flap is an accepted choice for oromandibular reconstruction. This paper presents case report of radial forearm free flap for the recostruction of buccal mucosa after surgical release of submucosal fibrosis due to preoperation. Oral submucous fibrosis is a collagen disorder affecting the submucosal layer and often severely limiting mouth opening. The surgical method includes the complete surgical release of fibrotic buccal mucosa with radial forearm free flaps.
